This question is one i hold closely to my heart, for i am the very definition of average. Heck i may even be below average! I’m the guy who just sort of coasts through life, neither excelling or failing. No doubt i could’ve been the person who invented the algorithm that now powers Google’s search, but i’m busy being… Ordinary.

All (last) night long i kept pondering about whether i should get rid of my PM shares, yep that’s right ditch them, and invest in Options instead.

PROS
Leverage power
Higher gains
My maximum loss is already known (cost of Option) so the mental fear factor is almost negligible.
CONS
I don’t get to brag that i “owe a piece of Philip Morris” anymore. =(
My dividends are gone.
Additional effort needed to learn all the dizzying Options terminologies
For all intent and purposes i get to treat my stock are real money equivalents; whereas with Options i need to some extra computations (and i suck at division).
Time is always against my side which runs contrary to what investing should be.
